It looks like a string of great shows are coming our way to the Tidewater Virginia area. First Primus was announced, followed by Modest Mouse, and now Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden are doing a shared billing tour.
The NIN/SG show will be at the Farm Bureau Live at Lakewood Amphitheater in Virginia Beach on Tuesday August 5th. Special guests Death Grips will also perform.
I have not gotten word on ticket prices yet but I do know that tickets go on-sale to the general public on March 21st.
Just added to the Local Calendar….
Ultimate hipster band Modest Mouse will be performing at The Norva Theater in beautiful downtown Norfolk, Virginia on Tuesday 20th May 2014.
Tickets go on-sale this Friday 3/14/14 at 10:00am EST. Tickets are about $50 once all the fees are added on.
Ultimate hipster band Primus has scheduled a date at the Harbor Center Pavilion in Portsmouth, Virginia on Wednesday 21 May ’14.
Tickets went on-sale 3/7/14 and are around $30 to $60 dollars depending on where you sit.
BTW…Have you heard the Primus front-man’s Les Claypool’s Duo de Twang yet? You should…they play awesome “folky?” versions of Primus songs, covers from other bands, and originals. ‘It’s a good thing‘. You can get it on iTunes here–> itunes
This is sad news for the Tidewater area. Some great bands have played at the Jew Mom.
Hopefully a new venue will open soon that is ‘hipster approved’.
Virginia Beach, Va. – This time, the rumors are true: The Jewish Mother has closed its doors.
Barely three months after The Jewish Mother Backstage in Norfolk shut down, the restaurant and live music venue announced on its Facebook page that it was shutting down in Virginia Beach as well.
The Jewish Mother first opened in 1974about two miles from its current location in the Hilltop area.A comment on the Facebook post says www.inticketing.com will be issuing ticket refunds today.
