Hip concert review…Clutch at The Norva 9/26/14

clutchGreat show by Clutch this past weekend at the Norva Theater in downtown Norfolk, Virginia.

Unfortunately I’m having difficulty with my camera…so I thought I’d at least post these photos I took with my phone. It was an awesome show! Enjoy!

Local Calendar reminder…Clutch live tonight at the Norva 9/26/14

Just a reminder…Hip band Clutch is performing at the Norva Theater in downtown Norfolk, Virginia tonight. Tickets are still on-sale, and are also available at the door.


I don’t have definite plans to go to this show as of yet, but if someone could hook me up with a comp ticket or two, that would be great! I’d love to write up a review of this show. Get a hold of me at HipsterApproved@gmail.com

Lots of good shows/events added to our region recently…

  • Free Slurpee Day is Friday July 11th. (Get it? 7/11? Happens every year.) at participating stores.

  • Spoon with special opening guest Hamilton Leithauser (of The Walkmen) are playing a show on Saturday September 6th at The Norva in beautiful downtown Norfolk. Tickets are around $34 with the fees.

  • earth-rocker-deluxe Clutch are coming back to town to perform at The Norva on Friday September 26th. Tickets are about $27.

  • über-hipster band Broken Bells are performing at The National Theater in Richmond, VA for those who would like to make a small road-trip. The show is Sunday September 28th and tickets are around $40. The opening guest is also Hamilton Leithauser.

Just Announced…Nine Inch Nails/Soundgarden @ Va Beach Amp 8/5/14

It looks like a string of great shows are coming our way to the Tidewater Virginia area. First Primus was announced, followed by Modest Mouse, and now Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden are doing a shared billing tour.

The NIN/SG show will be at the Farm Bureau Live at Lakewood Amphitheater in Virginia Beach on Tuesday August 5th. Special guests Death Grips will also perform.

I have not gotten word on ticket prices yet but I do know that tickets go on-sale to the general public on March 21st.
