Hip video…Ferma at Home & Williamsburg

I just listened to the free track from ultra-hipster Kramies.
You can download the new single ‘The Wooden Heart’ free here.
Here’s what a press release had to say about it:
“Hidden Shoal Recordings is proud to announce the release of ‘The Wooden Heart’, the title track from the expansive new EP by dream-pop singer-songwriter Kramies (out 17th Oct. 2013). Grab the track for free here or stream the track below.
Produced by Todd Tobias (Guided By Voices, Robert Pollard, Circus Devils), ‘The Wooden Heart’ is a kaleidoscopic introduction to Kramies’ beautiful new release. The song’s windswept grandeur is married to an emotional directness that demands your attention and doesn’t let go. Akin to The Moody Blues’ classic ‘Nights In White Satin’, ‘The Wooden Heart’ renders an immersive, widescreen pop vista that takes your breath away.
In addition to Todd Tobias’s production (on ‘The Beginning’, ‘The Wooden Heart’, ‘Upon The Northern Isles’ and ‘The Ending’), The Wooden Heart EP also features the production and instrumental talents of Jason Lytle of Grandaddy fame (on ‘Sea Otter Cottage’ and ‘Clocks Were All Broken’). Rounded out by the beautiful artwork of French photographer Jérôme Sevrette, The Wooden Heart EP is a lovingly constructed work of art.”
Let me know what you think of this track in the comments section. I’m really enjoying it.
Hipsters all have iTunes, right? How else are they going to get content for all their Apple gadgets?
Ultimate hipster band Nine Inch Nails is streaming the new release Hesitation Marks for free (due out Sep 3rd…so the free streaming is for a limited time…)
You can listen to it (and/or order it) here.
“Well, beatniks for one, folk singers, and motorbike riders. Y’know. All those hip, jazzy, super cool, neat, keen, and groovy cats. It’s in the fridge, daddy-o! Are you hip to the jive? Can you dig what I’m layin’ down? I knew that you could. Slide me some skin, soul brother!”
– Willy Wonka (responding to the question “Who wants a beard?”) from the film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
This just added to the Local Calendar….
Danzig tickets are now on-sale for his performance at The Norva Theater in beautiful downtown Norfolk, Virginia. The show is Tuesday Oct 15, 2013 and are about $30 after the service fees are added.
Finally had time to sort through a few photos from HipsterApproved’s first visit to Portland (there’s 100s).
Portland was awesome and I highly recommend you go (even if you’re not a Hipster).
I was also able to visit Mount St. Helens in Washington and Mount Hood (and a few other places in the area). Beautiful!
My first stop was Voodoo Doughnuts, so sorry I went crazy taking pictures there. There was a line…so I kept shooting! The doughnuts were worth it! You should go!
And, yes…the food-carts were AMAZING.
