The 3rd annual Sustainable Living Fair is coming to the Webb Center at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia this weekend, Sat Feb 18 10am and Sun the 19th 11am.
This event is totally free (even the parking) with the exception of the optional Rain Barrel Workshop. There is a fee for the cost of the items to make a rain barrel if you like, but you get to take it home with you after you make it. (Which I did last year.) I liked my rain barrel SO much I contacted the instructor, Mike and bought another one! You do have to register and pre-pay, so go to the website if you’d like one.
The Keynote this year is Tony Geraci. He’s a film maker, chef, and healthy food activist. He is debuting his new documentary — Cafeteria Man , for the first time in Hampton Roads on Saturday at 5pm.
Tracy Morgan, one of the stars of the totally hip TV show 30 Rock is performing at the Funny Bone Comedy Club in Virginia Beach’s Town Center Thurs Feb 16th to Sun Feb 19th.
Tracy is scheduled for one show at 8pm on Thur, but has two shows on Fri, Sat, and Sun (times vary). Tickets are $45 and are in the ‘Full Menu Showroom’. Which I guess means the ‘Big Room’…I’ve never actual been to this Funny Bone location. I’ve been to one in a different city, and it was always a great time. If someone could comp me tickets to this show, that would be great. I’d love to write a review.

Hope you were able to catch Bon Iver on Saturday Night Live last night. Unfortunately I missed it due to being heavily sedated and overly comfortable. Also…I’m an ‘Oldster’.
Anyway, I went to my trusty stand-by…youtube. It seems NBC doesn’t like it’s shows on there and has them pulled off. I was able to find the link that is posted above, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets pulled soon. Sorry for the big white ads across the bottom… You can go to nbc.com to see the full videos, I just can’t post them here…
The Tool show in Hampton, Virginia last night was awesome! I didn’t have the best seats, but it sounded great, and I had a pretty good view. Too bad I wasn’t able to get any pictures.
Just in case you couldn’t make it….I found a video on youtube that someone shot at the tour opener in Reno in January….full-show….enjoy!
I got a link to this video in the HipsterApproved mailbox and wanted to share it. It’s fun to watch with another hipster and see who can name the TV show first!
Turns out the Jingle Punks Hipster Orchestra is an 8 piece string ensemblet that makes theme music for TV shows, such as Pawn Stars. Which is HUGE! You can check out their other videos at their YouTube channel.
One other thing we got here that I think is worth sharing with you is a cool video by a hipster Dad and his kids. This guy seems to love Depeche Mode…could be worse. Check it out…
They also do a really cool Strangelove!
