Hip video…Keith Apicary – Neo Geo Song (Music by FantomenK)

It actually may not be correct to call this a ‘video’. On the site, it’s referred to as ‘An interactive film by Chris Milk‘ called The Wilderness Downtown. It uses the song ‘We Used To Wait’ by Arcade Fire as sort of the musical score.
What you do is go to the site http://thewildernessdowntown.com/ and you are asked to type in the address of the house you grew up in as a child. Once loaded the ‘film’ will start. It’s important you don’t click closed any of the windows that ‘pop up’! They are supposed to do that
It’s unlike any music video I’ve seen before because it uses Google Maps for images of the house and neighborhood which you’ve entered. Another outstanding feature is the use of multiple PC ‘windows’ opening and closing to the beat of the song. Very cool!
PS…You’ve seen this clip of Bowie performing with Arcade Fire in NYC’s Radio City a few years back…right? Awesome.
This was just added to the Local Calendar….

I’ve been having a lot of fun with Drinkify.org
I’m trying to come up with some obscure ‘indie’ bands to stump it, but it’s done a good job so far. (I’m thinking too “mainstream”… Comment with a band you can request that it doesn’t know if you can think of one.)
On a side note…Did you know Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy has his own coffee brand? It’s unfortunately out of stock right now at DragCity.com
